  • PM 3 reconstruction (capacity of cardboard 90 kt/y), machine with 4 long wires, reel width 2.550 mm. Machine speed 400 m/min.

Aim of reconstruction: production growth.

Sign of contract: November 2008.

Subject of reconstruction:

  • installation of a new reel with a spool magazine, construction speed 600 m/min. Modification of chutes into broke pulper under the reel, delivery of a new pump and sensor for consistency regulation. The diameter of Jumbo reel on the new reel with a spool magazine will grow to 3.200 mm.
  • the winding modification of the existing rewinder Jagenberg Vari Dur for a new bigger Jumbo reel. Enabled unwinding of the residual winding on another spool into the pulper under unwinding. The arms in tilting design, so that the passage of the crane with wound Jumbo reel and its placement into unwinding stands are enabled.
  • disassembly of both calenders and shift of the last 11th drying group towards the painting machine incl. modifications of the connecting media pipeline and rope threading. Guiding of the bottom drying wire will be replaced above the top rolls on the new construction.

Assembly, disassembly, start-up: May 2009.

Machinery parameters:

1. Reel for PM 3, incl. spool magazine for folding cardboard 220 - 350 g/m2

  • width 2.550 mm, speed 600 m/min, carrying roll diameter 1.100 mm, Jumbo reel diameter 3.200 mm. Carrying roll with water head and siphon and idler rope sheave for three-rope threading.
  • 6 pcs spools with carrier on both sides Ø 420 x 2.850 mm
  • mechanical drive
  • control board incl. cable interconnection to sensors and valves on the reel
  • hydraulic aggregate
  • run-up device for spools with electric gearbox
  • stretching roll before the reel with electric gearbox


2. Modification of chutes under the reel with shower and circulating pump HRB 125 with motor

  • sensor for consistency reading BTG for range 6 - 4,5 %, control DCS PM 3


3. Winding modification of rewinder Jagenberg Vari Dur

  • max. paper roll diameter 3.200 mm, max. speed 1.200 m/min from spool incl. disc brake, mechanical drive with clutch for brake generator
  • unwinding stands enabling axial and radial setting of unwound Jumbo reel
  • winding arms separated to enable tilting of the stop part for the spool where a spool with residual winding with diameter up to 600 mm is located, mechanical drive with clutch for motor
  • modification of chute into the pulper under unwinding
  • installation of ABB tension sensors under the 2nd existing rewinder roll with new bearing and holders


4. Disassembly of calenders after the coating machine and the 11th drying part

  • shift of the 11th part to the coating unit by approx. 2 m, incl. modifications of the connecting media pipeline


5. Delivery of the bearing construction for drying wire guiding

  • for location from under above the drying cylinders

The control assembly of the machinery carried out in PAPCEL, a.s., after the functionality verification of the particular parts a disassembly into a minimal amount of groups necessary for transport, so as to minimize the assembly time on site.
