Technical development in 2011 - basic points
The following tasks were solved in the
area within the Technical Board.

In the year 2011, the Technical Board accepted 8 new tasks for
development; the total number of tasks in Technical
development of SPLwas 38.As bigger and more complicated machines for paper material preparation plants are concerned, development is divided into
several successive tasks, including tests in the company test room, tests at the customer´s and the monitoring of the machine in operation for a longer
time. For these reasons, the period of the development or innovation of machines is longer and the evaluation of the criteria can only be carried out after
the trial operation at the customer. The main objective was to lower the energy consumption of the machines and the material demands and at the same
time to lower the costs of operation andmaintenance of thesemachines.
In the year 2011, 884 orders, including sub-orders, were processed in the Design
Department. 6 orders were not managed to be finished by the planned deadline, i.e.
0,67 %
of the total amount. We achieved this excellent result in spite of the
participation of designers in start-ups inAkasan andUchaly. The insufficient capacity
in the Design Department was solved in cooperation with engineering companies by
contracting for designing.
The design and development process is very important to PAPCEL a.s. and the
development of the company is dependent on it. The development and
manufacture of new machines and equipment with higher process parameters
and lower power consumption demands comparable with or higher than those of
competing companies are factors that guarantee the company success in the
market. In the year 2011, an important investment (about 5.2 million CZK) was
made in upgrading the Inventor 3D software to the 2012 version, including the
relevant hardware. At the same time, the Vault software for storing drawing
documentation was also updated to the 2012 version. The training of all designers
in the new software was also naturally included. This step results in a factual
increase in the internal designing capacities thanks to speeding up the work in
creating drawing documentation in the Design Department. It is necessary to
continue in education in the area of the knowledge of work in 3Dmodelling and the
design and calculation of machine parts using software for MKP.
